This application automates the risk assessment model known as the green/amber/red (GAR) model. This program supports three versions - the normal US Coast Guard model, equipment included as an extra parameter, and a model developed for the pacific northwest environment. In addition, the program accesses the NOAA forecast data for either an area specified by zip code or lat/long, or the area determined by the iPhone. Additional weather data is obtained from the National Buoy Data Center. Once completed, the GAR report can be emailed, providing a record of it. Please note that this application is not authorized, developed by, or supported by the US Coast Guard. It is based on publicly available materials. Also, please note that neither Pacific Northwest Software or any other entity makes any claims that the software will operate correctly or that it is suitable to determine risk. By using the program you assume full responsibility and hold all others blameless for any and all actions made using it.
Requires iOS 4.2 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

How to install iGAR on your iOS device:

- Once the iGAR is shown in the iTunes listing of your iOS device, you can start its download and installation. Tap on the GET button to the right of the app to start downloading it.
- If you are not logged-in the iOS appstore app, you'll be prompted for your your Apple ID and/or password.
- After iGAR is downloaded, you'll see an INSTALL button to the right. Tap on it to start the actual installation of the iOS app.
- Once installation is finished you can tap on the OPEN button to start it. Its icon will also be added to your device home screen.
